PHASE ONE OF THE FIBER35 DIET
A Powerful Start to a Healthier You
If you're a diet veteran (and these days who isn't?), you've probably had many diets work for you-at first. Sometimes, the weight came off and you were happy. After a time, you realized that it was too restrictive, too complicated, too time-consuming, or too expensive to maintain. You gave up and the pounds came back, often with friends.
A fundamental truth to weight loss is this: Eat less. Exercise more. Sounds easy. Diet veterans know better. Constant cravings and hunger pangs can undermine the strongest willpower. Fatigue and poor health can make the thought of exercise just too much.
Phase One of the Fiber35 Diet is specifically designed to jump-start your metabolism, reduce your cravings and boost your energy so you can lose weight and improve your health- for life.
Your High-Fiber Meal Plan
Phase One of the Fiber35 Diet generally lasts 2-4 weeks. First, identify your personal weight loss goal, then decide how much of that you want to lose during Phase One and Phase Two. Splitting your weight loss goal between Phase One and Phase Two of the Fiber35 Diet will help you take advantage of your metabolism and be more successful.
Increase Fiber
Fiber is the key. Foods containing high amounts of fiber also contain essential nutrients beneficial to mental and physical well-being. High-fiber carbohydrates help balance insulin levels reducing cravings. Your daily diet will include a minimum of 35 grams of fiber.
Getting your 35 grams of fiber every day through food alone is possible but even your best plans may need additional support. Many find that the FitSmart fiber shakes, fiber bars, fiber chews and fiber supplements are convenient and delicious alternatives.
Reduce Calories
Reduce your daily caloric intake by 1000 calories or fewer. Your calories will come from lean protein, fats and carbohydrates. Although you will be eating fewer calories, you will find that the calories you do eat will be packed with nutrients and satisfying. Under no circumstances go below 1200 calories per day.
Your Metabolism Boosters
Eat
You will eat often, 5 to 6 times a day. Brenda Watson's Optimum Nutrition Guide found in The Fiber35 Diet: Nature's Weight Loss Secret, makes knowing what to eat a snap. It is important that your meals are spread out throughout the day to keep your metabolism working efficiently.
Build
Building lean muscle will make you stronger, more flexible, improve your balance and, best of all, your lean muscle will continue to consume calories long after the exercise is over. Increasing lean muscle mass increases your metabolism so you can burn more calories all day everyday.
Exercise
In addition to the excellent benefits to your cardiovascular system, aerobic exercise really revs up your metabolism and helps to maintain the lean muscle mass you are building. Combining strength training with aerobic exercise gives you maximum effect. Be sure to choose activities you enjoy and exercise for at least 30 minutes three times per week.
Drink
Water is a metabolism booster? Researchers in Germany observed that the resting metabolic rate can increase within minutes of drinking 16 ounces of water (up to 30%) and this metabolic boost can last up to an hour. Prepare the stomach for optimal digestion by drinking water about 30 minutes before a meal. Stay hydrated throughout the day. Don't confuse thirst for hunger.
Sleep
Sleep is critical to maintaining your metabolism in any phase of the Fiber35 Diet. Busy schedules, stress, or the inability to sleep may make you think this absurd or impossible, but sleep you must. The benefits of getting eight to nine hours of sleep regularly cannot be ignored. Adequate sleep is essential for your body maintain balanced hormone levels related to metabolism. Fatigue due to sleep deprivation can make it tough to stick to your new exercise plan.
Sweat
Saunas are another way for to boost your metabolism. The heat they produce and our body's cooling response increase metabolic rate, cardiac output, and heart rate not unlike exercise. As the body sweats toxins are cycled out of the body as well. It is important to be sure to drink enough water to keep pace with the sweating and to gradually increase your time in the sauna.
Detoxify
Toxins can slow your metabolism, decrease your ability to burn fat and delay the signals to your brain that tell you 'OK, I'm full". Toxins can enter your body through your environment or can be produced within your body. It is important to begin their elimination through cleansing and detoxification. This can be achieved through herbal cleansing such as ColonFit, colon hydrotherapy, exercise and sauna.
